It's Been A Little While...

So, I haven't updated this thing in A WHILE now. Time to play a little catch up. I deleted my MySpace and Facebook accounts several months ago. Social Networking is a dying fad. I still use Twitter on occasion, but that is mostly just sporadic comments.

Anyways, I decided to start updating this thing a little more just to catalog some life events. Some of this I may already have posted, but I can't remember right off hand and am just too lazy to go back through my entries. So, here I go:

I bought a new house in Saucier back in April/May. Nothing fancy, just a brand new little three bedroom/two bath to raise my family in.

Work wise, I am still at the same company as the I.T. Director. It's a phenomenal job that fully utilizes me. The owner is simply amazing. I'm also doing a lot of free lance projects all over the coast. Most notable was a certain little run of billboards for a major casino down here :). I won the Gulf Coast Leadership Award this year as well. A few of you I actually ran in to at the award ceremony.

I bought another new car, a brand new Ford Mustang GT. This thing is a freaking BEAST of a machine. Even with just a few upgrades I am already pushing close to 500 horse. Last dyno was 492 hp at 5300 RPM with a few bolt ons ;) I eat I4's and V6's for breakfast. These stupid ricer kids haven't stood a chance yet. That's her in the picture in the driveway. V8 and the lovely 3.55:1 rear end ;) I'm currently getting her ready for Cruising The Coast. Look for the pack of us S197 Mustangs cruising around.

My daughter, Trinity is growing like CRAZY. Seriously, nothing beats having an adorable daughter. At three months now she is learning and growing in leaps and bounds. Definitely no mistaking who's daughter she is LOL. She looks a lot like me. Has my feet and hands too. Poor poor baby :( I spoil her rotten though ;) She's my everything.

I go to a different church now. Very active in it too. I decided that a non-denominational church was a better fit for me. So, a friend brought me to Freedom River Church, introduced me to nearly the entire congregation including the pastor and his wife. Needless to say that I've been there ever since. Check out the church's website at www.FreedomRiverChurch.org . I didn't design the site, so don't criticize me!

I've been spending a lot of time in Florida here lately due to work. I love it down there.

Some of you may be shocked by this, but I haven't been doing a lot of gaming here lately. To show just how far behind the curve I am, I just now started the FIRST Gears Of War... However, I DID run out and buy Wolfenstein when it came out the other week. I just haven't really had the time anymore.

All in all, life is good.

Rascal Flatts-Everyday

You could have bowed out gracefully
But you didn’t
You knew enough to know to leave well enough alone
But you wouldn’t
I drive myself crazy trying to stay out of my own way

The messes that I make but my secrets are so safe
The only one who gets me yeah you get me
It’s amazing to me how

Everyday you save my life

I come around all broken down and crowded out

And your comfort
Sometimes the place I go is so deep and dark and desperate
I don’t know I don’t know how

Everyday you save my life

Sometimes I swear I don’t know if I’m coming or going

But you always say something without even knowing
That I’m hanging on to your words with all of my might
And it’s alright, yeah I'm alright for one more night

Everyday you save me
You save me

Everyday you save my life

She was born Saturday, June 6th at 10:12 P.M. 7 lbs 1 ounce ans 19 inches long. Perfect health, perfect Apgar score, and totally adorable.

The birth announcements go out this week. The coming home celebration was awesome.

No Update In A While

It's Sunday morning and time to catch up on some things.

I bought another new laptop. Well, actually it is a netbook. I didn't want that crappy Intel Atom N270 core, so I tracked down the Asus 1000HE w/ N280 core. Also upgraded the RAM to 2 gig (max supported on 945 chipset) before I booted it. I have to say though, I was skeptical as hell about the usefulness of a netbook... I was WRONG. Ultra lightweight, extremely long battery life, and everything built in (webcam, memcard reader, 802.11n, etc etc etc). Slapping a solid state drive in this thing as well.

Bought all brand new office furniture as well. Cherry/Chrome/Glass desk, bookshelf. file cab etc etc... However, after spending all day putting everything together and getting my home office set up, I went to sit down and get some work done and guess what? I forgot to buy a chair... DOH!

Work is accelerating at an extremely fast pace. Spent a ton of time over the past month dealing with Pensacola...

Which, in turn put a strain on my last relationship. I had to break things off with her a couple of weeks ago. No ill will towards her, ya know... Just we are heading in two different direction. I need someone with more ambition and zest for life. I don't want someone to stand behind me, I want someone to stand next to me.

Church wise, I've been fairly active here lately, but kind of skirting the possibility of going to a different church. Again, something with a little more zeal and zest... My core beliefs aren't changing, just my need for update people and less routine.

House is coming together nicely. About to plant my garden ( a little late I know...).

Which reminds me, Will, your desktop is finished. I'll be home nearly all night tomorrow if you want to come by after work and grab it. Lord knows Stephanie is probably tweaking without her WoW ;) j/k

Still Buzzing

I'm still weirded out about actually buying a freaking house... I mean... Damn... With the 15 year mortgage it will be paid off a few years before my retirement goal of age 45...

I bought it out of foreclosure with nearly 10,000 down... I already have 28,000 in equity in it from the day we move in...

3 bedroom, 2 bath... I've always promised myself that my child would NOT grow up like I did. Now, I can pretty much guarantee she won't. No single wide roach infested trailer. No lazy parents. No parental fights at midnight. No going a day or two without eating.

Last year I made *This Post*. I can honestly hold my head freaking high and say that I have reached every single one of those goals and then some. God blessed me with the drive and determination as well as the opportunities to break down every single one of those boundaries, and I did just that.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Young Professional Leadership Award

My hard work is starting to get noticed by the right people... Today I received this award from the U.S. Chamber Of Commerce for my work (graphic, web, and multimedia design) with several local non-profit organizations. Had a VERY nice award ceremony tonight.

I'm now one of only five young professionals on the coast in the running for the Coast Young Professional of The Year award.

Wish me luck!

Random Bits From The Past Week Or So

Filed my grant papers for the house and was approved. We move in Wednesday/Thursday. During the process, there was some paperwork for an "unborn child". The young lady from the state filling out the paperwork had an INSANELY great attitude and was jovial the entire time. When we got to this page, she went about filling it out until she reached one question which she immediately started giggling about... The question simply read "Reason?"... Reason for an unborn child? She giggle and counted some things on her fingers then type "Halloween was a good night..." Which I burst out laughing about and added "When the mama bear, and the papa bear love each other, they give each other a special hug..." She nearly came unglued laughing at this. Her next line was "Her monthly visitor was kidnapped"... This ensued for atleast 15 minutes. I think the other people in the office thought we were insane.

I am now hopelessly addicted to "The Office"... I'm already part way through the fourth season. Freaking HILARIOUS. One of my co-workers was telling me that every person on that show reminds him of someone in our office... I can see it now. However, I am curious now as to WHO I remind him of. I have a feeling it's Jim... It's either Jim or Ryan... I'll stab him in the eye with a spork if it is Ryan...

I'm pissed off at Dr. Who now... I just finished Season 2... Season 1, The Doctor "dies" but is regenerated as a younger version (new actor). NOW, at the end of season two, Rose, the hottest British chick EVER get's stranded in a parallel dimension... So, we start season three with NONE of the original cast. No Micky, No Rose, No Jackie, not even the original actor for The Doctor (who was so much better than this douche bag playing him now). To understand, you would have to have been a fan of the original series...

Twitter is being a total pain today. It keeps deleting random tweets after like ten-twenty minutes. Extremely aggrivating.

Feels Like A Total Jack Ass...

Found out today that this guy I utterly hate and tried to fight three times last year, is actually NOT who I thought he was... He was just being a douche bag, and I was too... Apparently, we have been at each other's throats for nearly a year for no reason... LOL Even funnier is that he thought I was someone he use to work with... He just drove the same kind of car as the guy I thought he was and worked in the same area...

I apologized. He apologized. And now he is joining the band...

Life is freaking hilarious.

Hard Work Finally Paying Off

A few of you have seen me bitching and complaining about getting my credit straight over the past few months. Lord knows I have been BUSTING my ass to fix everything. To put things in perspective, at this time last year I had a 498 average according to my identity theft insurance package. Last week just before I filled out the paperwork for our new house I checked again to give myself a piece of mind...

DEFINITE progress.

I've paid off nearly everything, except the two items I disputed (and have subsequently won), and consolidated my student loans into one loan directly from the Department of Education. My new loan payment has held steady at $6.31 a month... LOL

I missed Destini's baptism today because I over slept... Freaking lovely...

This week is going to be busy week... Marketing meetings got moved up to Monday... I was planning on having Monday to tie up some loose ends on various promotional aspects, but alas, that shall not be happening. Not to mention that I HAVE to get the audio commercials recorded ASAP because I am behind schedule on that.

I've decided to go back and play Dead Rising on the 360. At least just to bring me over the 13,000 limit today. I really don't see myself spending a lot of time on that game after blazing through Left 4 Dead. Resident Evil 5 is pretty good.

Can't wait to attend that Charlie Brown musical that is starting this month. We are super stoked about that.

Livejournal is becoming SO boring now... I tweet so much that when I sit down to update LJ, I've already tweeted everything I really have to say... Sheesh...

My Cellphone

So... One of my phones was stolen yesterday... I know who did it... I saw her sitting in the parking lot eye balling me. She KNEW I was looking for my phone... Kind of pissed me off. No biggie though. Sprint will have me a new one here Monday. Until then, I swapped the line back over to one of my old HTC Touch phones. I feel all fumbly using that thing. It's like using a typewriter after using a PC for so long...

To you:
No hard feelings. I know you needed it more than I did. Seriously, no hard feelings.

This is probably a shot in the dark, but does anyone on my list have a Canon XL1 (not the H1 model) they would trade me for an old work truck?

Attention Adobe product users: We now have a Gulf Coast branch of the Adobe User Group. So go join NOW ;) and follow it on Twitter ;)

Seems like I am being pulled in every direction these days. Life is chill, but it seems like I am so freaking busy sometimes. Between Work, CYP (Coast Young Professionals), church, Chamber of Commerce, and two other groups, I feel like I am ALWAYS on the move. I am going to have to slow down when the baby arrives.

The new apartment is coming together nicely. Time to start shopping for the baby's furniture... For accessories we went with the Libby collection by Graco. Now to find a nice crib/bed. Amanda picked out *this* bed the other day, but I would like to find something that fits the decor more...We will see. It is on sale though...

Jen-Bunny came by today. Bless her heart, the poor girl had to go to UrgentCare and for the life of her, could not find one open. They ended up all the way in Long Beach before they found one open and without a two hour wait.

It's about time to do some cleaning up online. Need to update some profiles (especially my faithbase account), edit friends (some people I just don't talk to anymore), move some domain names (some are pointing at dead folders), and probably redesign some layouts. I just don't have as much time anyore to devote to these things. Hell, I am even considering retiring LJ. I rarely update with any significance anymore. I am probably closing my Facebook. MySpace is a joke. Most of us hardcore net users have already migrated to our own domains and tied various API's in (Twitter, Flickr, etc.). Social Blogging is so 2005...

Eh, I'm off to play Left 4 Dead with a coworker. If there is anyone on my list that plays, message me.

I feel like an idiot... I just noticed that crib/bed is available in four colors... Two of which match the decor perfectly... Maybe I should have actually looked a little harder before formulating an opinion...

Seriously, WTF?

Is it really so big of a problem that they had to create a sign for it? WOW...

Even funnier is that they not only went as far as to translate it on the sign, but they even created a little illustration...

Can you imgine what the graphic designer was thinking?

Mar. 3rd, 2009

Me - Dark Sunglasses - Left

I'm surrounded by morons...

The following is a key illustration on why I think that degrees in "Education" are worthless. If you are going to teach something, you should have a degree in WHAT you are teaching... Teaching Biology? Get a freaking Biology degree.... For Example:

To give you a little background, I lead a team of four designers on this project. The project itself is totally irrelevant. As a result of leading this team, I am asked to give a one hour presentation on the graphic design industry in general to a college class today. The teacher is absent today and a substitute is filling in... Guess what? I went to high school with this teacher. We were NOT fond of each other then. However, I am MUCH more friendly now than I use to be. So, I smile, shake her hand, ask her how she's been, etc. etc. etc. I set up my netbook and projector and start talking. The substitute is OBVIOUSLY faking a smile and only being polite due to the setting.

Half way through my talk I am going over some slides illustrating what "trapping" is, how it works, why it is used, etc. One of my examples is a picture of some Cyan=100 letters printed on top of Magenta=100 with and without trapping. In the slide that had trapping off, of course as any damn designer knows, the text was royal blue....

And this is where "Were-Teacher" decided to pounce...

"You can't make blue... It's a primary color..." She snorted...

Now, in a class full of digital artists, that was the wrong thing to say... The class started laughing. Were-Teacher, of course, took this as they were laughing at me...

Ah... How she relished in the thought of that... I saw the fire in her eyes ignite as she bolstered confidence....

"Actually ma'am, when dealing with inks, we use a CMYK subtractive color model instead of the Red/Green/Blue additive color model...." I started...

Here is where she interrupts me and plays the "I have a a doctorates degree" card...

"Look, I have a doctorates in education. I think I know how colors work..."

"Obviously you don't ma'am..." At this point I see my saving grace... An inkjet printer refill kit on one of the work benches... With Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and BlacK ink...

"Apparently you do not know the difference between additive color models and subtractive color models... CMYK is a subtractive color model. Watch...."

On a scrap piece of paper I mixed in front of her eyes two ink colors... Magenta and Cyan... The result? A beautiful royal blue... After a round of applause from the students, I simply add:

"And I only have a lowly Bachelors and a recently finished Associates degree..."

I had no further problems out of her the remainder of that class and for the second class I had to speak for.

Now I am curious as to why a woman with a doctorates in education is working as a substitute...

Ernie Ball

Dear Ernie Ball,

I am terribly sorry regarding my initial complaint regarding the feel of my newest set of bass guitar strings. Upon further inspection, I noticed that I have inadvertantly purchased the 55, 75, 90, 110 gauge string set as opposed to my normal 45, 65, 85, 105 set. Totally my fault. Further more, after playing on the new string guage for a little while now, I am happy to say that I am now in love with this guage set.

Please disregard all previous bitching and complaining regarding this product.

Morning Ramblings

We recorded AGAIN last night... Fun Fun... We will probably be recording two more days this week... So, expect new songs on my website as well as a few cross posted here and on MySpace.

I spent most of the day yesterday drawing up this contract at work. It was SOOO hard to refrain from putting a clause in the fine print that said "All your bases belong to us" or "A deceleration of default in this agreement will result in tea-bagging". The gamers at both companies would snicker, but I am pretty sure the higher ups would flip. Especially when we are talking about six figure numbers annually.

That freaking Denny's commercial I watched right before going to bed is now gnawing at my brain... Stupid Nannerpuss... But it is SO freaking funny...

Ugh, I'm off to work. Early morning staff meeting and a mid-morning marketing meeting. Then there is an I.T. thing going on at the I.P. that I may hit up.

Furniture Arrived!

So, our furniture was delivered today! Champagne micro fiber couch and love seat, two end tables, coffee tables, and lamps.

The newest place is coming together nicely. First time I have done this with a slow methodical pace and proper planning. Like I have always said, Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

Got a wild hair and bought an iced tea maker for us:

Seriously, every kitchen should have one...

Signed up for Netflix FINALLY. Only reason I did was because with the Xbox 360 I can watch the movies streamed without waiting on disks. Plus it's cheaper than Blockbuster. Larger selection of movies and TV shoes that me and Amanda enjoy too. I am REALLY surprised at the quality of the streamed movies to the Xbox. From the time I add it to my instant queue on the computer to the time we are watching it on the 360 is less than three minutes... Seriously fast and it looks GREAT. Netflix has the right idea though because this is the only way to actually fight piracy. Give me the movies I want, as fast as I want, as good quality as I want, for a price that is reasonable.

Time to finish watching Legend with Amanda and eat our king cake :D

Weekly Catch Up

This week's been busy...

Got a hair in my hind end and decided to go furniture shopping. Our initial idea was red micro-fiber couch & loveseat w/ dark wood furniture (end tables, coffee tables, entertainment center, small desk) for the living room. So, we set off on our search. We started at one end of Gulfport, and worked our way to Biloxi. Yeah... NO luck... Apparently the red I am looking for, is virtually impossible to find. We found a few, but they were either way too orange, or way to maroon. We found one that was the perfect color at Badcock Furniture, but it had an end table built into it that had two many sharp corners. Those on my friends list know why we are shying away from sharp corners... We found another one that was the right red. It is identical to my brother's couch, except it has one extra section on each side of the sectional. Same brand, same style, same material (not micro-fiber) though. Only problem with that one was that it was way to big to fit in the area with all of the rest of the furniture. Even Ashley Furniture didn't carry one like we wanted...

So, while we were hunting our red whale, we stumbled on a champagne colored micro-fiber couch and loveseat set that we liked. Needless to say, at the end of the day, we decided to change our color scheme... Went back and grabbed the pair. We snagged some dark end tables and a coffee table to match. Tossed in a few lamps and we got nearly our whole living room set for $2100.00. I still need a small desk in dark wood with nickel accents and an entertainment center of the same color scheme to match. So, if anyone on my friends list knows where to find those two items, hit me up.

To create a flow with the kitchen (red and black accents) and the dining room (dark wood, black frames, and red accents) we are using some artwork that we made for the walls that has splashes of red, a red VERY deep shag rug, as well as some red trinkets and candles on the end tables.

Look, I'm a graphic designer by trade, colors, flow, and ambience mean a lot to me.

Hell it took us two days to find dishes that we liked. Out of the 10 places we went (Pier One, Bad Bath & Beyond, Three Wal-Marts, a K-Mart, two Belk's, JC Penny, and a Big Lots), we eventually settled on a red & black square set from Wal-Mart (of all places).

Which brings me to my gripe... I purchased a black electric can-opened... it was 11.00 or so... I bought an electric one because the manual ones were 9 dollars... WHY THE HELL IS A MANUAL CAN OPENER ONLY TWO DOLLARS CHEAPER THAN AN ELECTRIC?

The new Sams on Landon Rd has a Wolfgang Puch set of pots/pans I am picking up this week for 149.00. I may bounce back to Cuisinart though...

On the tech side of things, I was >.< close to grabbing the LG 47" 120Hz LCD TV (Scarlet)... I think I made a mistake by not getting it and may go back today and get it... They normall go fo about 2200.00, but I can pick it up for about 1700.00. Actually, screw that, I am today... Here's which one:

God I Love Sprint

Okay, so... 13 months ago I purchased two HTC Touch phones. I also had to put down a $300.00 deposit on each line. Now, the promotion I signed up under gave me a $150.00 rebate on each phone as well.

So, fast forward a year... I still have not recieved my rebates.

I come home from work and their is two letters from Sprint. First one was "Thanks for being a customer, we are crediting your account $350.00 for line 228-343-XXXX for being a valued customer". The second one said the exact same thing but for the other line (Amanda's line). So I check my account and sure enough they had credited my $700.00.

THEN, this chick from Sprint Customer Life Cycle's calls me. She's being really sweet to me on the phone, joking and laughing, asking me what I've liked about Sprint, what I've hated, etc. etc. I mention the rebates and she tells me that she will have it taken care of. "Yeah right I am thinking, I have heard that before"... So we hang up after 28 minutes and she credits my account 60 minutes for talking with her. Which was pretty cool. She emails me a phone number to call and tells me to mention her name. So... I call it... As soon as I mentioned the chicks name, the guy was like "No problem sir, let me get that expedited to you"... Long story short, $300.00 check w/ UPS tracking number for it..

$1000.00 (700.00 credit & 300.00 cash) dollars total for being a Sprint customer a year... I think I may swap out the Lotus for the newest Blackberry... Although, there IS a new all touch screen Palm coming out...

Slowly moving in to the newest place. I'm just so exhausted from work.

Need to finish a client's website this weekend.

I launched one of my newest sites last week (GulfCoastReview.com). This one is more for fun than money though. No ads, no subscription fees, nothing. I launch more sites than is healthy I believe. I launched one last year that I was STOKED about (GulfCoastBandAid.com). Then this local guy offers me a price for the site that I couldn't refuse... So I sold it to him... He had it open THREE MONTHS before he shut it down. Idiots shouldn't own sites... At least it was not a complete waste of time though, like I said, the money was good. I just loved that site because it was FUN to update... Then their is MississippiCheaters.com . There's some red tape issues their right now that I will have cleared up in Feb. At least the ad revenue is covering the site's hosting fees (yay Google!). I had MobileNerd.biz also, but sold the domain name before I launched it as well. Then there is my personal site JasonWoodcock.biz . That's just my vanity site though. I'll probably launch AmandaAndJasonWoodcock here soon as well, but that is more of a nostalgic timeline style site.

Other than that, it's a pretty slow night. I cooked her Chicken Cardonara for dinner. Now I am lying here on my stomache in bed typing on my tablet shirtless while she is rubbing my back. Oh, and we are eating the little candy conversation hearts together. Valentine's Day is by far my favorite holiday.

If there is anyone on my friend's list with a CDL license looking for a job, contact me.

Need to go up to Amanda's mom's house and put out some poison to kill the fire ants in the yard. We are worries that the dogs will get into them. I've been meaning to do it for about two weeks now, but something just keeps coming up.

There's a little bit of family drama going on right now. Apparently Grandma was watching my neice's today and decided Kira needed a hair cut... Needless to say everyone threw a fit... I get a text message from Amanda saying "OMG Grandma cut Kira's hair..." I'm like "And?"... Apparently no one KNEW she was going to...

Got Amanda covered under all of my supplemental insurance policies (Accident, Disability, Cancer, Short term sickness, etc.) today as well as the benificiary on my life insurance. She's already covered under my primary medical, vision, and dental.

Ugh, I'm rambling now... I'm going to go finish up Bioshock and see if there are any decent shows this weekend.

Key Illustration Of Exactly What I Have Been Preaching For Almost A Year Now...

What comes around, goes around...

Yesterday I swung by the post office on the way home. I had a hand full of quarters and needed one stamp. The lady in front of me was the same way... As soon as we get in there, we find out that the post office no longer takes cash at the automated machines... FREAKING GREAT I think... The poor lady looked like she was about to cry. So, I grabbed my debit card out my wallet and told her to hold on while I bought both of us stamps. We mail our letters and head our separate ways.

After I got home, I couldn't find my wallet...

As a result of my infinite wisdom *sarcasm*, while placing the stamps on our envelopes, I had set my wallet down on the postage machine and conveniently walked off and left it there...

So, we RUSH back down to the Post Office.

Predictably, the wallet is no where to be found.

At this point I am heartbroken. Everything sentimental to me resides in that wallet. All of the other stuff would be easy to replace: cash, debit card, business cards, discount cards, id, license, etc. It's the sentimental stuff that I was freaked out about: my movie ticket to Indiana Jones, two pictures, an old engagement ring, my laminated hand written guardian angel (long story), and three concert tickets.

So, depressed as all hell I head back home and start cooking dinner...

About a half hour later there is a knock on the door and there stands an older gentleman, probably in his 60's.

"Yes, sir, what can I do for you?"

"You left your wallet at the Post Office..."

At this point I am shocked. My jaw hits the floor and I stutter.

How in the world did he find me?

I had left a stack of business cards in my wallet and he had Goggled the address on them... Then he took the time to drive over and drop it off.

Everything was still in my wallet... Even my cash...

Friends Only

"Taurus (April 20-May 20): A lighted porch attracts moths, but darkness attracts all sorts of critters. Standing guard may create a few hassles, but ignoring security will ensure trouble. Do not become fearful. Just remember to lock your doors."

On that note, everything that is not a picture post will now be friends only. MySpace, Faithbase, Livejournal, etc.

With the seven regular stalkers I have, I will not be taking chances again. Lord knows it has lead to trashed possesions and various other problems.

Hamlet 2 & Sweeny Todd

Slow night tonight. Needed some rest so Amanda and I hit up Salsarita's (been months since I've been there) for dinner and rented a few movies. Hamlet 2 & Sweeny Todd. I saw Sweeny Todd when it came out in theaters with Heather but Amanda hasn't seen it. I think it is the only Depp movie I don't have in High Def...

We watched the new Resident Evil (Degeneration) last night. For an all CGI movie it was actually pretty freaking good. It was no Final Fantasy VII, but it was good nonetheless.

Ended up not having to fire the ex's current, he apparently quit... I think he knew it was coming...

I'm super pissed at work... Before I was hired, all IT was sub-contracted out to a few third parties. Today I come in and the server is down. Powerless... So I start at the wall socket and work my way forward. Power is at the socket but doesn't make it past the UPS... So I pull the UPS off the rack to reset it and notice it feels super light... Yeah, they never installed the lithium ion battery into the UPS... So, I grabbed a  battery from the power mobility department (Toyota Prius) and wired it up. 25 x the rating and it cost next to nothing for us. Plus it's always cool to brag at the next Coast Young Professional meeting that I am powering my server's UPS with a Toyota Prius battery pack... Now if the power goes out I have 64 hours at 50 % load instead of the normal 15 minutes... Plus I set it up to text message my phone as soon as power fails for more than ten minutes. I SHOULD have done that initially.

Sprite & Sherbet

One of my ex's showed me how good Sprite & sherbet are (like a rootbeer float, but... different ingredients...). However, I think I screwed something up... I used Sprite and Blue Bell sherbet... I put a little sprite in the glass, dropped some Blue Bell in... Added a little more Sprite...

And the damn stuff will not quit making foam! It just keeps on foaming up! After like five minutes I was FINALLY able to take it out the kitchen and eat it...

I think I did something wrong...

Experiment In Faux Rotoscoping...

Here's my first shot at a quick and dirty comic conversion. My idea after I have figured out the most consistant way to automate the process is to take Adobe Premier and tear apart a video clip in to a series of still images (60 images per second of video), use Photoshop to batch process the images, then recompile the images back in to a video in Adobe Premier. Why? High definition cartoons from old home movies... Now how funny is that??? My first try is an old video I found of Colt, Jeff, me, Wes, and some other people singing Glycerine by Bush, drunk off our asses.

Added a second image using a different technique... Still up in the air about which route to take exactly....

There is nothing "petite" about a size 18... Seriously Walmart, quit trying to make fat girls feel small... Thats why the US is the most obese nation in the world. then to top it off, Mississippi is the most obese state... Therefore we can conclude that Mississippi is the fattest place in the world... I blame the 18p demographic....

To further my point, Marriam Webster has ONE definition for "petite":

French, feminine of petit
: having a small trim figure —usually used of a woman
pe·tite·ness noun

Short and husky? No...

My issue is NOT that "husky short women" are not beautiful or whatever... It's that fact that the women's fashion industry since 1929 has decided disregard 250 years of usage of the term just to use"petite" like this  to minimize offending short husky women.
